AABB and Fenwal Inc. are collaborating to
launch the eighth annual Blood Collectors Week, September
9-15, 2012. This recognition week will promote and recognize
the outstanding contributions of phlebotomists and apheresis
operators and all others involved in supporting the nation’s
blood supply.
The primary goal for this recognition event
is to celebrate this profession as being vital to the blood
banking community, and linking how blood collection
professionals secure a safe and adequate blood supply by
creating a positive experience for the donor. |
Implementation and promotion of
this national program will take place at the local
level. Certain marketing, recognition and public
relations materials will be provided to all
participating blood centers to help drive momentum and
promotion with collections staff, donors, the media
and others. By registering via this website, you will
receive tools and information to promote this event.
Many of these materials will be available via the
website.
In addition to the actual week
itself, we will keep the celebration going year-round,
celebrating and highlighting blood collector success
stories. You can submit a success
story online highlighting how someone has gone
above and beyond in supporting the nation’s blood
supply, and/or creating a positive donor
experience. |
